Certified Phlebotomy Technician
Program Description
The Certified Phlebotomy Technician program at MedNoc Training College is a 130-clock-hour course designed to prepare individuals for a successful career in healthcare. The program is taught by a licensed nurse who is also a Nationally Certified Phlebotomist and Certified Clinical Medical Assistant.
This comprehensive training program equips students with the essential skills and knowledge required to safely and effectively draw and collect blood specimens for medical testing, transfusions, donations, or research. Students also learn to collect non-blood specimens.
Key topics include anatomy and physiology, blood collection techniques, infection control, specimen handling and labeling, patient interaction, safety procedures, communication, and legal and ethical responsibilities. The course combines classroom instruction, skills practice in a dedicated lab, and hands-on clinical experience in hospital or clinic settings.
Upon successful completion, graduates are eligible to sit for the National Certification Exam through the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) and qualify for entry-level positions in hospitals, clinics, laboratories, and other healthcare environments.
